Kristine Phillips Evertz
Kristine Phillips Evertz is an Associate at Summit Strategies. As the most recent addition to the Summit Strategies team, Kristine adds considerable lobbying depth to Summit’s growing Portland office.
Ms. Evertz began a legislative career in the Oregon State House in 1999 and has held increasingly senior legislative positions in the private sector, most recently serving as a Government Relations Representative for Knowledge Universe, coordinating grassroots and direct lobbying in 17 western states on child care and early childhood education issues. Her prior lobbying experience entailed work at the Oregon state capitol on behalf of multiple clients including municipalities, professional trade associations, charitable nonprofits, mental health and human services interests, biotech, and arts and cultural advocates. Ms. Evertz’s professional portfolio will focus primarily on the Oregon state legislature and lobbying of the executive branch of state government.
Kristine brings to the team extensive relationships built over the last 15 years in Oregon through her campaign development and finance work on behalf of victorious campaigns for Governor, Metro President and state legislative offices.
Ms. Evertz is an Executive Board Member of Children First for Oregon, and has served on the Public Policy Advisory Committee of Start Making a Reader Today (SMART) in Portland, Oregon. She holds a MA in American Government from the School of Public Affairs at American University, Washington, D.C. and a BA in Political Science from Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She is an avid cook and gardener who most weekends can be found visiting the Portland Japanese Garden or hiking in the Columbia Gorge.
