Headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, The Greenbrier Companies (NYSE: GBX) is a leading supplier of transportation equipment and services to the railroad industry. The Company builds new railroad freight cars in its three manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico and marine barges at its U.S. facility in Portland, Oregon. It also repairs and refurbishes freight cars and provides wheels and railcar parts at locations across North America. Greenbrier builds new railroad freight cars and refurbishes freight cars for the European market through both its operations in Poland and various subcontractor facilities throughout Europe.

Summit Strategies’ partners have assisted Greenbrier on a variety of projects, providing legal and regulatory counsel as well as lobbying services to help the company solve business and government challenges. We have successfully helped Greenbrier work with the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC), and its successor the Surface Transportation Board (STB), to address concerns about rates, dispute mediation and other issues. Our team has worked to amass support from individual members of Congress and from states to shape regulatory policy and decision making. We also have worked to enact tax and policy legislation that furthers the business goals of the company.
