Meet Geoffrey

Geoffrey Urbach is a Senior Associate at Summit Strategies and has over 7 years of government and government affairs experience.  He focuses his work on issues relating to federal transportation, natural resources, labor, taxation, and trade policy among others. Mr. Urbach also monitors the federal regulatory and appropriations landscape, drafts reports on policy proposals, and oversees Summit’s research team. He has worked on behalf of cities, counties, and trade associations, among others to support their strategic interests and bring about successful outcomes. Mr. Urbach brings advocacy, management, research and project development skills to assist Summit Strategies’ efforts.

Prior to Summit Strategies, Mr. Urbach worked as federal Legislative Analyst for Ball Janik LLP in Washington, D.C. assisting a multitude of public and private sector clients. In addition to his federal advocacy, legislative and regulatory policy work, Geoffrey brings a breadth of knowledge and perspective from the state and local levels.  He served as Campaign Manager for a victorious Texas Senate campaign, District Director for a state representative, and Legislative Aide to the Texas chairman of public education. At the state level, Mr. Urbach worked closely on issues relating to transportation, education, and the environment.

Mr. Urbach, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and is a candidate for Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Sustainable Urban Systems at American University School of Public Affairs.
